The IB&WS is the first society in the English speaking world that enables members to engage in both business stimulus and wine education among a community of peers — where networking is encouraged and wonderful relationships can be cultivated. Members are by invitation only, and are senior business executives and leaders.
The evenings will kick-off with a brief, stimulating, 15 minute business presentation, our version of a Ted talk, and lead to Q&A, discussion and debate. After a 45 minute business immersion, we will segue into an educational wine tasting that will be led by some of the top wine-makers, experts, writers, sommeliers and connoisseurs around. Our wine advisor, Charles Curtis MW, formerly head of wine for Christie’s in Asia, will ensure that palates are both educated and enticed.
In New York, IB&WS will meet at Restaurant Bar Boulud/Boulud Sud, or an equivalent venue, where we have longstanding personal relationships with the Chef and his team, and an extraordinary, customized dinner will cap the evening.
London is in it's beginning. Other locations are also in the pipe-line. Members of one Chapter will have reciprocal privileges at others as they come online. Each Chapter will publish an executive summary of the business presentations, and wine notes from the tastings, as well as the menus. These unique publications will be available on a “Member’s Only” part of our website to all Society members.
Members will also have access to customized wine and food commentary, business and lifestyle blogs, and be able to consult the Society’s experts in planning special occasions outside the Society for their company and/or family.
Exclusive and compelling local and global experiences will also be offered, many of them unavailable elsewhere.
Membership is currently $5,000 per annum and is payable once a Member accepts the invitation to join. Events are separately priced and will be priced to cover the event costs and include reasonable administrative expenses.
While Members are expected to periodically contribute to the business component of the evenings, the Society will also, from time to time, bring in business leaders and luminaries. The Society will also be assembling a Wine Cellar, so that increasingly distinctive vertical and horizontal tastings, as well as comparative tastings can be conducted.
Our Founding Members and Board have created and/or helped lead a number of top business forums, wine and food societies and developed numerous successful and sustained communities of practice across industries. By launching the Society here in New York, and having no explicit affiliation with an external Parent organization, we are able to offer wonderful engagement with a minimum of hierarchy or bureaucratic buffers.
Our commitment is clear: catalytic business dialogue for business leaders among a community of peers, exciting wine experiences and education, and dinners and evenings that allow us to deeply savor the culinary gifts of one of the greatest dining venues in the world in great company.
Note : All membership fees are non-refundable.
